VISITING COIT TOWER

Tickets & Entry

Admission to the ground floor of Coit Tower, including access to the murals, is free of charge. Tickets to the 360° viewing platform at the top of Coit Tower can be purchased on-site for $10, cash or credit, between the hours of 10:00 am.. to 5 p.m.

Guided Group Tours

Guided tours of Coit Tower, including the murals, are led by knowledgeable volunteers and are available for groups of 4 to 6 people. The tours last 30-40 minutes and cover the tower's history, the Public Works of Art Project, and the lives of the 26 artists who created the murals. A full tour costs $10 per person, and a tour of only the second floor costs $5 per person. Tickets are sold until one hour before the tower closes.

Please note: The 90-year old elevator may not be working when you visit. If the elevator is not working, you will need to walk up 13 flights of stairs to reach the viewing level. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. We hope you will still come to Coit Tower to enjoy the historic murals and the city views from Pioneer Park.

Coit Tower Cafe - Open Daily (9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.)

The Coit Tower Café offers snacks and beverages. Food and drinks are not allowed in Coit Tower.

Getting There

Parking at Coit Tower is very limited, and the line of cars waiting to park can be very long, especially during peak times. You can take the Muni #39 bus to Coit Tower from Fisherman's Wharf. For a more scenic option, you can hike up Telegraph Hill's eastern slope via the Filbert Street stairs, which pass through the Grace Marchant Garden, or the Greenwich Street stairs.
